Pre-Kindergarten & K Prep Classes - 4 Year Old Programs Children in the Pre-K & K Prep Classes must be four years old by December 2nd. Children in this class are required to be potty trained. With four teachers in the Pre-K classroom, we strive to maintain a child to teacher ratio of 8:1. According to the personality of the class and at the discretion of the director enrollment may exceed this proposed ratio as long as we are still in compliance with state requirements. We offer a well-rounded curriculum that promotes growth spiritually, academically, socially, and emotionally. Our Pre-K and K Prep curriculum includes daily participation in music and movement, Bible stories, more advanced art and writing experience, letter recognition and sounds, number concepts, working with manipulatives, puzzles, dramatic play, special cooking projects, as well as other age appropriate activities in order to prepare the children for Kindergarten entry in the following year. The Pre-K Class uses the large play yard, which includes a sand box, two play structures, and large area for riding tricycles and group games. In order to best prepare for Kindergarten, it is recommended that children in Pre-K attend at least half days Monday-Friday . We do also offer Tuesday & Thursday or Monday, Wednesday & Friday schedules. Children in the K Prep Class are required to attend Monday-Friday from 1 - 4 pm. Treehouse provides healthy snacks. Children staying past 12Noon need to bring lunch from home. Some children attending all day may need an afternoon nap. Parents will be notified if their child is in need of the extra rest to make it through the long day.
